Can CBD help you study?

Anybody who has ever struggled to study effectively will know that a lack of concentration is a major difficulty. There is some evidence that CBD can help with this vital aspect of the study, so just how could CBD help to improve the quality of your study?

If you find concentration difficult, it’s likely that it affects many areas of your life from family to finances to your career. When so much can rest on the outcome of studying for exams, it’s important to find a way of studying that really works for you. Of course, there are lots of practical things you can do to create the right environment for study, but if your brain just doesn’t want to cooperate with your good intentions, you’ll need to find another way of helping yourself.

Endocannabinoid deficiency

In fact, your lack of concentration could be the result of a condition called clinical endocannabinoid deficiency or CECD. In CECD, your body has low levels of naturally occurring cannabinoids. This will mean that you have difficulty with relaxing, focusing and concentrating. In other words, it makes it really hard for you to study. If you have an endocannabinoid deficiency, taking CBD could help you overcome these problems, although understanding of how this works is still at a very early stage.

How CBD could help

For someone who has an endocannabinoid deficiency, taking CBD is thought to slow down the neurotransmitter process. Slowing things down might sound counter-intuitive, but giving your brain more time to process things can really help to improve focus and concentration. There is some evidence to suggest that CBD can also help to improve memory, which is particularly vital when you’re studying for exams. Additionally, many people who find study difficult also suffer from anxiety, which in turn contributes to poor studying and poor exam performance. CBD can help with anxiety as it has relaxing and soothing properties.

What about ADHD?

If you suffer from ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) it’s very likely that you struggle with study. CBD is becoming a popular alternative to traditional drug treatments for ADHD as it has no harmful side effects. It is thought to work not only to improve concentration but to decrease anxiety and improve your mood.

No adverse side effects

There’s no need to worry that CBD will make you ‘high’; it has no psychoactive properties and is perfectly legal to use in the UK. Taking too much is unlikely to have any adverse effects, so it’s also safe to use.
